Mutual Aid Model

Where the Money Goes

All revenue after operating costs flows into a community-held mutual aid fund. The fund balance is publicly visible at all times. There is no black box.

Disbursement is handled by a rotating peer review panel — not a single executive, not a hidden committee. Artists reviewing applications are themselves accountable to the community. Every grant awarded is publicly announced.

Grant eligibility is based on intentionality of practice: can you speak to the work as yours? Do your creative values align with UNION's? This is not about AI tool usage — it is about embodied creative practice.

The fund activates at 100 members. Until then, we build together.

The intake questionnaire is not a test. It is an introduction. We ask questions to understand who you are, what you create, and what community looks like for you — so we can match you with the members and resources most relevant to your practice. Any artist creating with intention is welcome here.
